Another Great Design Source

Thank God for the internet!  I mean, really - it used to be you had to know a designer, or architect, or both - take every shelter magazine available in the world (which I probably have at one time or another) - and even then, if you couldn't articulate exactly what you wanted  (or maybe just never had a clear vision) - well, you were at the mercy of others.

Now, don't get me wrong: I LOVE designers and architects  - they're interesting, creative and sometimes, flat-out brilliant, not to mention fun to be around.  But sometimes, no one but you has the crystalline vision of the look you're trying to achieve.

Enter the wonderful world of design source websites!  And my new favorite: dwell at home in the modern world.

Let me give you a quick example: by now all of you know that I have a thing about light - natural light, that is.  For my taste, the more light the better: whether it's strong, clear morning sun, or the softer, dappled afternoon light shining through.  So naturally,  I love huge picture windows, clerestory windows, banks of French doors, bifold glass doors, even modern sliders.  Check at  these doors byWeiland:

I wasn't even familiar with the brand, but turns out they are (according to the site) the "forerunner in European door and window products for the US market."

The Dwell website has a gazillion categories you can search, depending on what it is you're looking for.  And if it's nothing in particular, then you can just kill some time checking out the fabulous photos the different companies provide showcasing their wares!
