It's A Wrap - Ms. von Furstenberg's Our Pick Today

Yes, Diane von Furstenberg, designer of the ever popular wrap dress, is our pick for today's They Get It segment; as this is one woman who always looks fabulous.

Born in Brussels, the daughter of Russian and Greek immigrants, she studied economics at the University of Geneva.  But it was fashion that captured her imagination; and she launched her design business in 1972.  With the motto, "Feel like a woman. Wear a dress."  she introduced  her knitted jersey wrap dress to the public.  Five million wrap dresses later, she landed on the cover of Newsweek; and the dress Diane had called the "little bourgeois dress," graced the figures of women everywhere, becoming the iconic dress of the seventies.

In 2005 Ms. von Furstenberg was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) and she became the president of the CFDA in 2006.

Besides her obvious design skill, check out these photos of her over the years.  Whether on the runway, in formal attire, or out for a casual stroll with her husband (Barry Diller) Ms. von Furstenberg looks fantastic: tasteful, classy and always age appropriate.
