In the Pink - A Sausalito Living Room Strikes a Vivid Pose

Normally I'm not a fan of pink - at least not for home interiors.  The color always strikes me as "too girly" for anything other than a young girl's bedroom.  And even then, I find it cloying if it's not used judiciously.

So, I was surprised when I saw this photo of a living room in Sausalito, California.  I really liked it.  In fact, it took me a few minutes to even realize that the walls were pink.  I was so drawn to the vivid salmon colored sofa (and the vast coffee table,) that the walls didn't stand out - they became a fabulous neutral.

And, of course, that's the key: everything in the room is in sync.  And the result is a beautiful, refined space.
