It's Thursday - and time for a Style Source Fave -

The source I've chosen today is a bit of a departure from other interior design books that have been selected.  It's more of a design travelogue; as the book is a photographic tour of 26 lodges in seven African countries.  The book: Simply Safari, by Daryl and Sharna Balfour.  (The Balfours are wildlife photographers based in Swaziland.)

Think Out of Africa meets Euro high style - a combination of primitive and traditional mixed with modern, luxurious opulence.  And the truth of the matter is that from the earliest days of safaris, outfitters have advertised, to potential clients, some pretty outrageous luxuries considering the environment.  Think tea with sterling silver service, evening  cocktails, dining on bone china, hot showers and daily fresh linens.

This book is loaded with gorgeous photographs, and for those who want to bring a little safari style to their own home; a source list is included.  All the information you need to recreate the exotic safari ambience for your own pleasure.
