Hail to the Chief
It's Tuesday, time for our They Get It segment; and today's pick was easy. We put this gentleman on the list months ago; but in the spirit of bipartisanship, decided not to write about him until after the election.
That's right, our new President-Elect, Barak Obama, is our choice for this Tuesday.
Early on, we were struck by how easily he wore his wardrobe. Of course, being blessed with height and a lean physique works wonders. But as we watched him throughout the campaign, time and time again the camera caught him at angles that showed all easy elegance and grace. Any man can put on a well-cut suit, crisp shirt and beautiful tie, and look "well dressed." But much fewer carry themselves with such self-possession and confidence, that the attire speaks not only to thoughtful dressing, but to personal power.
And notice we said personal power - not the power an office bestows. There's a big difference. You don't have to be a senator, corporate titan, movie star, or the President, to have the personal power that confidence and elan bestows upon you.
We talked yesterday about confidence being the most attractive, sexy quality a woman can have. Well, obviously, that's just as true for men. To be blessed with good looks is great, but that's something none of us have any control over. But to have confidence, self assuredness - that's a quality that comes from within; but is decidedly determined by the individual.
And down to the nitty-gritty: the President-Elect wears well tailored Hart, Schaffner & Marx suits (Hickey Freeman.) Made here in the USA (always a good choice for politicians) the suits are known for their basically conservative style, luxurious fabrics and everyday sensibility, including excellent value for the price. Not ever flashy or cutting edge, but elegant and appropriate.
