The Most Beautiful Ski & Resort Wear!
There's a chill in the air here in northern Virginia; winter is definitely right around the corner. And I can't help but think about snow. No, not here in Virginia, but in the Rockies.
You see, as a kid this was the time of year when we all paid close attention to the weather. Not really the temperatures; but the snowfall - or at least, predictions of snow fall. We all had our eyes on the ski resorts, and eagerly looked forward to opening day.
So in that spirit, my pick for a Style Source Fave today is another company's website. "What?" you say, "a competitor?" I know, seems a bit counter-productive, but not really. Our niche is all about artisan made, and whenever possible, eco-chic "green" accessories and gifts. But the other website is all about snow. Yes, these these folks deal primarily in high-end ski wear and apres ski attire.
And when I say high end - I mean really high end.
A number of years ago I received my first Gorsuch catalogue. I didn't know a thing about the people behind it, but I fell for their clothes immediately. Oh my... the catalogue had the most gorgeous ski wear I'd ever seen in my life. And I grew up skiing at Vail every winter, so it wasn't like I'd never seen snazzy ski outfits. But the Gorsuch attire - incredible.
And then I spied the resort wear. Stop reading here if you're anti-fur! They carry mink ponchos, vests and coats, gorgeous shearling with fox accents, and the list goes on.
In addition to the fur, there are the exquisite velvets, wools, cashmere pieces... I could go on and on.
And recently I became aware of the charming story behind the business. It was started back in the early sixties by two Olympic skiers (natch) Renie and David Gorsuch, in Gunnison, Colorado. And they started by selling ski clothes out of the back of their stationwagon. Gotta love it! The Gorsuchs had three sons, now involved in the family business. And besides the catalogue and website, they've opened seven stores - all in beautiful Colorado ski country.
So if you're in the market for uber-fabulous ski gear, be sure and check out the Gorsuch site.
Or, if you just want to swoon over some really beautiful clothes, be sure and peruse the site.

Sweet article on what all the classy ladies are wearing in the lodge and on the mountain. Now I'll have something to say when I see that hottie in mink. If anyone is interested in the conditions at their favorite resort, I found a great resource for tips, deals, reviews, and articles at OnTheSnow.com: http://www.onthesnow.com/

I am a real fan of beautiful fur clothing, I was a hospitality student and was working on a report on Hotels Melbourne Australia, I use to go to the best hotels Melbourne had to offer, and boy the women there were really chic,I once saw a lady there wearing this really gorgeous fox fur hat, and it was from Gorsuch, I still remember it so clearly.

Wool and cashmere ski outfits? I think if I wore that I'd for sure get a date that night! Do they make fur-lined ski holders? How about leopard print goggles? They'd go great with my Armada skis and Range Rover!
