Cool, Classy, Confident - Candice Bergen
For this Tuesday's They Get It segment, we've chosen another Hollywood beauty. A beauty that's been around now for so long, that we take her for granted and sometimes forget how exceptional she is.
We're talking about the eternally classy, elegant and poised, Candice Bergen. A total OMG knockout beauty in her younger days; now at 62 she exudes mature sexiness, charm and ageless beauty.
But there's always been so much more to Ms. Bergen than her supreme good looks. Intelligence, humor, and a keen self awareness (often missing from the preternaturally gorgeous) that have never failed to intrigue.
Here are some great photos of Ms. Bergen showing her style over the years. The first one is priceless: taken by Larry Keenan, it was shot at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. Mr. Keenan noted that he spotted Candice in the crowd, asked if he could take a picture, and she casually posed for him. No one around even noticed what was going on.
The one below was taken at the Academy Awards in 1990. Candice is shown with her mother, Frances Bergen.
And two more recent photos:

Yet another wonderful example of Coco Chanel's adage: Elegance is not the perogative of those who have just escaped from adolescence, but of those who have already taken possession of their future. Ageless elegance - ageless beauty.
