Romantic Style & How To Get It!

With Valentines' Day right around the corner, I thought it would be fun (and appropriate) to choose a very romantic coffee table book for our Thursday Style Source Fave.

While this book would fall into the interior design, or decorating, category; it's really not an interior design book.  It's a home tour - of a very beautiful, richly appointed, no detail overlooked kind of home.

I'm talking about the gorgeous San Francisco home of designer, Jessica McClintock.  Years ago, I saw photos of her home in one of the design magazines.  At the time I thought, "It looks like her dresses: very feminine, old world style, an emphasis on textures,"  and "She ought to do a book."

Voila!  Jessica McClintock's Simply Romantic Decorating: Creating Elegance and Intimacy Throughout Your Home.

If you're familiar with her clothes, the rooms will feel familiar.

And if you like monochromatic color schemes, full of creams and golds, with rich, lush textiles, you'll appreciate her elegant home.

And for those interested - there's the Jessica McClintock Home Collection, including furniture, lighting, and even bed linens.
