Eyes Wide Open to the Possibilities

I was looking at gardens this morning (photos of gardens, that is) just to get some inspiration for my own.  After all, it's almost March, and time to  think about  new flowers for the planters, new shrubs for fence lines, etc.  (Oh, I know - I'm giving it away that I'm strictly an amateur - the "real" gardeners never cease with the planning, the research, the redesign.)

But the photos of the gorgeous gardens derailed me from my intended Home Decor Thoughts' subject; and off on one of my favorite tangents: outdoor rooms.

So this Wednesday, we're looking at what originally inspired me (a couple of truly spectacular gardens) and then some beautifully staged "rooms."  And the thing about the rooms, they're actually ads for the furniture.

Normally, I prefer real home settings; but I decided on these photos for two reasons.  One - they're imaginative and inspiring.   And two - if you're actually in the market for new outdoor furniture and you like what you see, you can buy the lot!  (Furniture website is included at the end.)

(Hm,  this could double for tomorrow's post on Style Source Faves.  "I'll see how tired I am in the morning," she wrote with a grin.)

But now for the gardens:

One view of the beyond beautiful french style gardens of Manor d' Eyrignae in France.

The incredible Japanese Gardens in Portland, Oregon.

And the outdoor rooms:

All of the furniture in the photos above, can be found at Roger's Gardens.

Happy shopping - and Happy Dreaming!  Oh, the possibilities...

Fantastic photos - love the Japanese garden - they must manicure the bushes daily - these types of gardens are a LOT of effort, but good to see they have one all the way over in Oregon.

Gardening can be such a daunting task but well worth the blood, sweat, and tears (I've definitely shed a few after a few days in the garden!). I'm not sure my garden will EVER look like the photos above, but I'll sure keep trying! We've been fortunate this year to find good pieces of furniture, that have a quality look, but at affordable pricing. Surprisingly, places like Wal-Mar, Costco, and Sam's Club have some excellent deals.
