Always Look on the Bright Side of Life!
So here I am on a Friday morning, feeling a little kooky, a little quirky, a little... perhaps its the antihistamines.
But since Fridays are our Free For All days - when we talk about whatever... I'm thinking about laughter. Not just a little teehee, but big, uproarious, sidesplitting, tears rolling down the cheeks guffaws!
Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE Broadway shows? Well, I do. A great show is the one place that can transport me - for those few hours - out of my life, out of whatever is happening at the time.
I think of Alan Rickman in Noel Coward's Private Lives: he was mesmerizing - you couldn't take your eyes off him. (And he was SO robbed of the Tony that year!) Or many years ago, seeing the magnificent Ian McKellan (before he was Sir Ian) onstage in London - breathtaking!
But as much as I love the plays, I love the musicals even more. Especially the ones that elicit the kind of laughter I referred to. When I first saw Spamalot, I could barely breathe, I was laughing so hard.
I say, "Feeling a little blue, a little (or maybe a lot) depressed? See the show." There's a reason for the adage: laughter is the best medicine.
Which brings me to the video. A friend alerted me to this one; and it's such a perfect way to ease into the weekend.
So forget about all the bad news for awhile - the AIG bonuses that are making so many NUTS - and just swim in the silliness of it all. It's guaranteed to make you smile!
