Enough With the Cold Already - I'm in a Picnic Kind of Mood!

It's pouring outside today - we need the rain, but really now...  Here we are on March 26th, and still temperatures are in the low 50's.  At least it's better than what our friends in the Dakotas are experiencing.  Oh my - snow still falling and rivers flooding - horrendous conditions.

So, I think everyone's ready for some good weather - some warm weather.  And when I think of warm weather, I think of outdoor living: reading under the shade of a big, leafy tree - enjoying morning coffee on the patio - and eating outdoors.

What is it about eating outdoors?  Everything seems to taste better; and it definitely feels happy.  Which leads me to picnics.  Who doesn't love a picnic?   Picnics are fun - whether it's a veritable buffet that's been packed up and hauled somewhere, or a casual gathering in your own garden.

But casual doesn't mean boring; and it certainly doesn't mean undecorated.  And that brings us to this Thursday's Style Source Fave: another great video from the Williamsburg Home Stylist, Cindy Cragg.

Now you know we love Cindy.  Let's be honest: there are videos floating around that give out some good information, but for one reason or another the "host" is so annoying you can't bear to watch the video.  But not Cindy; she's clear, concise, easy to watch, with great ideas.  (The reason we chose her holiday door decorating video back in December.)

Today's video has Cindy showing us how to make a pineapple centerpiece for an outdoor buffet/bar table.  I love the fact that she uses the pineapple as the vase (that's about as green a vase as you can get - plus you get to enjoy the fruit!) and then fills it with things that many have in their own yards: sunflowers and grasses.  How perfect is that?

Here's the video - and here's wishing for good weather everywhere!
