An Interview with Mario Buatta

For this Wednesday's Home Decor Thoughts, we have a video of, none other than the Prince of Chintz himself,  Mario Buatta.

Anyone who's even mildly interested in interior design is familiar with Mario Buatta.  The New York designer's very diverse client list has run the gamut of celebrities, from Mariah Carey to Malcolm Forbes, Barbara Walters to Billy Joel.  And his style is well known: chintz, classicism and comfort - beautifully accessorized English country interiors.

This video contains lovely shots of Buatta Vignettes, but what's really interesting is the interview, including Mr. Buatta's take on homes owned by those with more $$ than taste (or sense of history) - "...rooms that are cold... no soul... look like a display"  vs. what a house should look like: "... your home should be a reflection of you and what you like."

For your pleasure:
