Going With the Flow - Color, that is

Today for our Home Decor Thoughts, we have photos of a home in the Washington DC area.

The story behind the house renovation is charming: a man and woman meet, fall in love, get married - but oh by the way - they have fourteen grown children between them.  That's right - 14!  And then there are grandchildren and great grandchildren. (I wouldn't want to be in charge of preparing their holiday dinners!)  Ergo, the need for the reno.

The result is a house that is thoroughly delightful - warm and inviting - just what you would expect.  But the two pictures that caught my eye are all about color: the color flow between the living room, entryway and dining room.  It's just beautiful.

But I'll say right now - I'm a fan of color.  With the exception of my master bath (an ivory shade) I don't have any white walls in my house.  And at one time the color flow in my own home was as dramatic as in these photos.  (The last paint job tamed it down a bit.)

So now to the photos - lovely house - lovely colors:

The dining room color is actually sap sycamore paneling, used to create a library feel - very clever, indeed.
