La Dolce Vita - A Little Italian Inspiration
I've been thinking a lot about Italy this week. After all, Italy's been all over the news, what with the world leaders meeting there for the G-8 Summit. And of course, Italy's ever colorful and fascinating Silvio Berlusconi has been a prominent feature in the news stories. (I've got to admit - with him - I just chuckle. I can't work myself up to feel any kind of outrage. I mean, really now, he's been pulling this stuff for decades, so why have a hissy fit about it now?)
Anyway, being that we're Bella Figura USA, I've written many times about my love for all things Italian, and how much I am drawn to the homes and decor.
In fact, here for our Thursday's Style Source Faves segments, I've chosen Frances Mayes' In Tuscany, also Private Tuscany by Simon McBride and Elizabeth Minchilli, and books on gorgeous Italian gardens. And then there is the author/designer Betty Lou Phillips. I've mentioned three of her books already.
But here's the thing about Betty and her books: I just love them. They are amazing. She includes the most gorgeous rooms - not only designed by her, but rooms done by other well known designers as well. The books are just so flat-out lovely; and I find myself going back to them over and over again. In fact, the hood over the cooktop in my kitchen was fashioned from an elaborate design in one of her books. (And it is glorious!)
So for today, another Betty Lou Phillips tome: Inspirations from France and Italy.
French and Italian inspired style in one package.
Good things do come in small packages!
As always, this book can be purchased from Amazon.com
