Revisiting "Chinatown" on its Anniversary

Thirty five years ago.  Yes, it was thirty five years ago that the brilliant movie, Chinatown, was released.

Now, I know I've mentioned it here before in the Style Source Faves segment; but I can't resist looking at it again - on its anniversary.

It's beautiful, disturbing, and simply one of the most stylish movies ever made.  The mens' suits, ties, hats - gorgeous.  Evelyn Mulwray's hats, veils, pearls - stunning.

And as icing on the cake, hovering over all the mystery and beauty, there's the music.  That hauntingly beautiful score composed by the great Jerry Goldsmith.  I read that he was brought in at the last minute to write the score, as the original was deemed entirely unsuitable.  The article said that he composed the music in just a few days.  Amazing!
