They've Got the Look: Elegant, Savvy Style
About a year ago, when Savvy Style first began, I posted a Monday This Makes Me Crazy article titled, rather inelegantly, Sloth.
In it, there was reference to the show Mad Men, and Robin Gihvan (Washington Post fashion editor) talked about the style of that time. Her quote: "... everyone looks spectacular. Those glossy good looks gin up nostalgia for a period when even the average person was a thousand times as glamorous as his or her counterpart today."
Sigh... a thousand times as glamorous...
I'm thinking about her quote on this Tuesday morning for our They Get It segment; and I think this video captures that sentiment beautifully.
Now, this video is of 50s fashions, but note all the elements that are still popular today: lean silhouettes, pencil skirts, three quarter length sleeves, sweater sets. It's a great reminder that everything old is new again. But oh, how glam these ladies look.

They've definitely got the look!
